Topics covered on this course represent areas of computer science which are at the forefront of current knowledge and constitute a core part of the academic curriculum currently taught to students at the University of Cambridge.

Topics include: Java and Object Orientated Programming, Algorithms, Computer Design and Operating Systems Cryptography

Practical experiences

Code-breaking and ‘hackathon’ style sessions will be provided for all students studying Mathematics and Computer Sciences. During these sessions all students will explore basic encryption techniques alongside applying their knowledge to build apps or websites. This will provide a strong basis for future undergraduate studies.

Suitability and requirements

Students must be:

  • Between 16-19 years of age for the duration of the programme.
  • Fluent (or near-fluent) in English. Please contact us if you would like to discuss the level of English that is required to attend this course.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Have some previous (basic) experience of programming.
