Safety and Welfare

Cambridge SciSearch prides itself on providing a safe environment within which students can explore their chosen subject at depth, whilst engaging in a wide variety of additional extra-curricular activities. As such, all parents and students are required to agree to our code of conduct upon programme registration.

Throughout the summer school, students will be under the direct supervision of a Programme Director and a team of ‘Student Mentors’ who will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of our students. Registration will take place at all timetabled meals, academic session and social activities, to ensure that we remain aware of the whereabouts of each student throughout the programme duration. All Student Mentors live in the residences alongside our students, thus ensuring round-the-clock care and supervision.  The college residence also has a 24 hour security team, to ensure that students are in a safe and secure environment both day and night.

Students are expected to maintain a standard of behaviour that is considerate of others and appropriate for life in a college that they share with other members. Excessive noise, abuse of property or facilities, or any other anti-social or illegal behaviour is strictly forbidden. In particular the purchase, possession or consumption of alcohol or drugs is not allowed, regardless of student age. Any student found in violation of this policy will be immediately expelled from the programme.
